Bird watching

The Jacetania region has more than two hundred different bird species, of all of them, the bearded vulture stands out, and the black woodpecker which resides in the surroundings of the Monastery of San Juan de la Peña.

The privileged situation of the region makes it the ideal place for witnessing the bird migration. One of the most exciting scenes that can regularly be seen across the Pyreneean skies, are the huge common crane flocks.
